Open since 1908, Aglamesis Bros is a long-time favorite in the Cincinnati area, and provides a small dose of nostalgia with its scratch-made desserts. Set in a classic soda shop, the creamery churns up small batches of ice cream the old-fashioned way, which results in irresistibly decadent flavors. Sit outside to soak in the sunshine on a warm summer day, or inside to fully experience the historic charm of the venue.

This casual neighborhood cafe is the perfect place to catch up with friends and family. Settle in at a table to enjoy an exceptional breakfast (served all day), or sidle up to the ice cream counter to sample one of their traditional gelato flavors. Either way, make sure you accompany your choice with some coffee! It's some of the best in town.

Buzzed Bull Creamery proves that ice cream isn't just for kids anymore! There is something for everyone at this shop, ranging from alcoholic dessert creations to coffee-infused treats. Kids can experiment and make their own flavors at the mad scientist bar, and adults can indulge in fun specialty desserts like the Bonfire (marshmallow ice cream with graham crackers, chocolate chips and cinnamon whiskey), or the Lemon Cake (lemon ice cream, cake batter, waffle cone pieces, whipped cream and gin). But don't worry, all of these can come unspiked as well.

The flavor and the quality of the creamy desserts at Dojo Gelato are on another level. The shop, owned by husband-and-wife team Michael and Kimberly, creates its own Italian-style gelato and sorbetti from scratch with the best ingredients available. There's always something new on the menu, so stop in for yourself to get the full scoop! You can track them down at the Findlay Market location, the Northside location or the ice cream truck that roams the Tri-State Area. In fact, we think it's one of the ten places in Cincinnati worth breaking your diet for.

Possibly the most famous ice cream shop in Cincinnati, Graeter's doesn't exactly need the praise we are about to give it. The family-owned ice cream shop has been around for nearly 150 years and is based right here in the Queen City. Although Graeter's has now expanded to locations across Ohio and beyond, Chip and Richard Graeter, fourth-generation ice cream connoisseurs, are both still involved in the operation of the business. When you visit, make sure to order one of the flavors with chocolate chips — Graeter's is known for its melt-in-your-mouth chocolate.

This charming ice cream shop makes its treats in small batches with the finest ingredients available. Hello Honey has been crafting ice cream from scratch since 2012, and the staff has a passion for creating new, surprising and innovative flavors as often as they can. The menu rotates often to incorporate the imagination of the staff and the seasonal ingredients available, but you could find options like charcoal black sesame, honey lavender or banana brûlée. Make sure to get your own scoop — we doubt your companion will share.

Creamy whip used to be a Cincinnati staple — served at ice cream shops and restaurants around town. But now, one of the only places to find it (or at least one of the best) is Mount Washington Creamy Whip. This classic soft serve creamery is known for its creamy whip, but also for its baked goods!

Two of our favorite treats collide at The Parlor — coffee and ice cream. But even better than that, The Parlor (also commonly known as the Old Milford Parlor) serves up so many flavors of ice cream and soft serve — they barely fit on one page.

This old-school ice cream parlor isn't just a great spot to grab dessert. It's also a community gathering place! Zip Dip has been serving the Cincinnati area since 1950 and still boasts the original neon sign over the window. It's not uncommon to see multiple generations of the same family waiting at the window for a taste of the legendary soft serve, or enjoying conversation at the nearby picnic tables.
Enjoy your ice cream!
